[6] Action for Violet/Everywhere [Fourth Wall Event]
[Blake is in his apartment minding his own business when there's a flash of light.]
When it fades, nothing seems different for a minute. All's normal and as it should be, everything in its place. After a second, it sinks in. There's something that's been out of place for months, and all of a sudden the feeling of nakedness is gone.]
[He pats his side, and there's the good, reassuring weight of his gun, right where it should be. He takes it out to give it a look over, and it's exactly as he remembers it. He puts it back and feels more himself than he has since he got to this damn place.]
[That's when he notices there's a lot of strange noises outside.]
[Blake opens the door and steps out.]
[He takes a good look at around.]
[He thinks it over.]
Nope.
[He turns around to go back inside.]

[Tough as Blake likes to think he is, there's things he relies on. This has him spooked.]
[he shakes his head hard.]
One kind of crazy, that I can handle. Reality can have one exception.
It can't be everything. Then where does it fucking stop?
no subject
What you perceive as truth will not be the same to others. You'd be better off if you didn't allow yourself to become bound by what you think is correct.
[
If you try to make sense of panfandom Pokeworld, you're gonna have a bad time.]no subject
[Blake has seen plenty of those in his time, yelling about God or the government watching them or aliens stealing pieces of their souls.]
Perceive is a cop-out. What's real is real.
[He doesn't sound as sure about that as he might have.]
[Blake is not having a good time.]no subject
Can't really say there's much reliability in how things work here though. Maybe before we all arrived here, but not now.
no subject
How the hell can you be so calm about this? If somebody came up to you and said, oh, hey, nice day today, everything you fucking know about anything is wrong, how would you feel?
no subject
[He wasn't allowed the luxury of prolonged panic, the need to understand and fix a situation was more important and a better use of his time.
Didn't hurt that he was pretty sure he could kill everyone currently in the city if he needed to.]
Something like that, I guess.
no subject
[He stops. The fight slowly goes out of his stance. He thinks, and lets out a long, long sigh.]
We're not all ninjas, buddy.
no subject
But given the situation and the unknown abilities of the people around us, I think approaching it calmly is a better course of action. Most of the people around us... they've become friends, comrades, during our time spent here. That didn't change just because they can now do something we might not understand.
no subject
[he huffs a humorless laugh] I thought I was. Hell. A cokehead knifing a Samoan in a gimp suit is nothing to this.
[He rubs his head and feels very, very old.]
Friends, huh. I guess there's a few people here who I wouldn't shove off a bridge.
[That's high praise from him.]
no subject
Now see, the things you've seen would be a little weird to me. I guess they're not really comparable but...
[He understood the "knifing" part, at least.]
It's not so bad though, is it? I'm kind of interested in hearing everyone explain their abilities myself.
no subject
Yeah, but nothing from my world warped into your living room.
There's supposed to be things you can rely on. What've you got if you don't even know where you stand?
If they weren't full of shit all along...fuck, that changes everything.
no subject
A chance to change your perspective, I guess.
[SHRUG. He was pretty strangely calm all things considered.]
And... if any of the ninja warped into your living room or, ah, messed up anything, I apologize.
no subject
What's wrong with where my perspective was before? It was doing fine there.
Not your fault, unless you're Ninja President or something.
no subject
But he didn't see the need in pushing the subject much more. At least Blake seemed calmer now.]
Ah... the leader of our village is called the "Hokage". The ninja's actions are still their own, but if they're bothering anyone it reflects poorly on all of us, I think.
[Not that he expected the Konoha kids to run wild and be assholes.]
no subject
You're saying you're in charge of all these kids running around calling themselves ninjas.
no subject
I am.
[Technically, anyway. He was the highest ranked here but only Obito was used to Minato being around.]
no subject
[Steadily, it rises to a shout.]
You son of a bitch!
[Blake gets up in Minato's face, cords standing out on his neck]
You're the fucking half-cocked third-world warlord sending twelve year olds out to get killed! All this goddamn time!
[Rage rises up and swamps reason without a second glance. Blake forgets about all the other bullshit going on and puts all the force in his body into shoving Minato.]
no subject
His rank and title weren't just for show, Minato was an experienced fighter and the shift into that mindset was seamless, second nature. Hope you enjoyed your one free hit on him!
Incapacitating Blake was out of the question though, no matter any further aggressive attacks, and it could often be more difficult to remain on the defense and not injure than it was to simply kill someone.]
The younger teams are not sent on dangerous missions unless necessary.
[It was just unfortunate how often it became necessary, wars that dragged on for years, pulling in each nation and wiping out their forces. By the time Minato had stepped up as Hokage the war was over, but the children were still taught to fight, if not by the village then by their family.]
It has never been a light decision and they understand the risks their ranks bring.
[And they were never really children to begin with. They couldn't be, not with the way their world worked.]
Note: Beating the shit out of Blake is 100% fine
[One hit just makes him want more. Makes him lock on to him as a target for the bloody, brutal revenge he never got to have.]
Necessary?! You twisted fuck! A little kid can't understand this shit! You're getting children killed, there's no fucking excuse!
[He puts all his rage into a swing for Minato's face.]
lol, I don't think Mini would
It was completely unfair to engage in a fight, no matter how badly he might have wanted to return that punch.]
Don't presume to understand the position myself and the previous Hokage were in.
[The expectations, the unspoken devotion they had to the village as a whole, not to the people themselves. Pushing children quickly through the ranks long before they were truly ready, sending them on missions directly to the front line. Konoha's forces had dwindled rapidly by the day, there hadn't been anyone left to send instead.
But it was guilt, too, that drew Minato's anger- if only he had argued against his students being sent out, if he had been a better teacher... They hadn't been ready. He hadn't been fast enough to save them.
Still, his tone was almost eerily calm as he spoke, even but firm.]
no subject
Get back here, goddammit!
[Blake whirls around until he finds him again and charges toward him]
There's no fucking reason to send a gradeschooler in a warzone!
no subject
[Talking wasn't going to get him anywhere, Minato knew that. But it was the only option he was comfortable with taking- minus possibly just teleporting away.
He remained in place though, easily reading Blake's advance, shifting on his feet and raising his arms in order to block or deter any more punches.]
Hitting me won't change that.
no subject
[He can't get a single hit through on the guy but he keeps going anyway, hurling his rage and body weight into blows one after another]
Some kid has nothing to do with your fucking issues!
no subject
[Their world was cruel- expectations piled on tiny shoulders, hatred cycling and driving each of their actions. It was entirely possible though, still, for the children to live out their lives in relative safety as a civilian, rarely seeing the horrors of wars being fought outside the boundaries of their village.
But those with a clan name, with special abilities, were never given that option. If they didn't learn to fight, and early, they were in more danger than being sent out on the front lines. Other villages were always looking to increase their military ability, and kidnapping a child to exploit was hardly beneath them.]
I don't think my issues are the problem here.
no subject
[He's throwing everything he has at Minato, and the bastard's not even moving. Panting, arms aching, Blake lets his attack lapse.]
[he snarls into the blond asshole's face] You don't know what you're talking about.
