[6] Action for Violet/Everywhere [Fourth Wall Event]

[Blake is in his apartment minding his own business when there's a flash of light.]

When it fades, nothing seems different for a minute. All's normal and as it should be, everything in its place. After a second, it sinks in. There's something that's been out of place for months, and all of a sudden the feeling of nakedness is gone.]

[He pats his side, and there's the good, reassuring weight of his gun, right where it should be. He takes it out to give it a look over, and it's exactly as he remembers it. He puts it back and feels more himself than he has since he got to this damn place.]

[That's when he notices there's a lot of strange noises outside.]

[Blake opens the door and steps out.]

[He takes a good look at around.]

[He thinks it over.]

Nope.

[He turns around to go back inside.]

[He'll give Blake this one, even if he winces as his back slams against the ground. There's no struggle out of him even when Blake has his arm locked into position; there were ways to get out of the situation but every newbie needs some encouragement.]

[Blake's been on the verge of some kind of coronary event for most of the day.]

That's not a big shock. Here comes the new boss, same as the old boss, robot or not.

[He takes another drink. The burn on the way down is a steadying feeling. Something normal.]

So in the future the whole galaxy goes to hell. Anything in particular I should look out for?

...If they start building space colonies in your lifetime, don't move there. Don't pick a side, and stay out of their way for a few decades.

[Of course he doesn't. That's part of why Jack does.

And also part of why, when Jack finally steps off the edge, he stops only a few feet down, the wind keeping him happily suspended over nothing, but laughing hard enough that he's not sure he isn't going to have some sort of event.]

[Talking wasn't going to get him anywhere, Minato knew that. But it was the only option he was comfortable with taking- minus possibly just teleporting away.

He remained in place though, easily reading Blake's advance, shifting on his feet and raising his arms in order to block or deter any more punches.]

[Blake smirks, pleased with himself.] Every once in a while an old dog can learn new tricks.

[He lets go and offers Rude a hand up.]

Starting when, you start gearing them up to kill people as soon as they could walk?

[He can't get a single hit through on the guy but he keeps going anyway, hurling his rage and body weight into blows one after another]

Some kid has nothing to do with your fucking issues!

[ She cries out from the kitchen in a sing-song voice: ] Levitation!!

[ And returns with a glass of water. ] Here. Drink this.

I'll keep that in mind.

[He leans back on his stool, feeling a warm buffer start to rise between him and the insanity going on.]

Never wanted to go to space anyway. Oh, sure, every kid thinks they want to be an astronaut, but then you find out it's all math and getting stuck in a can. Apollo 13 makes for a good movie, but you wouldn't wanna do it.

They have to be able to defend themselves.

[Their world was cruel- expectations piled on tiny shoulders, hatred cycling and driving each of their actions. It was entirely possible though, still, for the children to live out their lives in relative safety as a civilian, rarely seeing the horrors of wars being fought outside the boundaries of their village.

But those with a clan name, with special abilities, were never given that option. If they didn't learn to fight, and early, they were in more danger than being sent out on the front lines. Other villages were always looking to increase their military ability, and kidnapping a child to exploit was hardly beneath them.]

[Blake sprints toward him but it's too far, he can only watch in horror as Jack-]

[stops in midair.]

[Blake stumbles to a halt, staring up at him]

What the fuck?!

Stop laughing!

[Blake half-hears.] The Bible's got nothing to do with this.

[He reaches blindly for the glass in his peripheral vision. He gets the feeling looking straight at how the horse is carrying it would be a bad idea.]

[Blake glugs it down. Too bad it's just water. He could use something a lot stronger. He'd worry about there being anything funny in it if he weren't halfway to the farm already. Can't exactly get worse.]

[He sets the empty glass down on the nearest horizontal surface. Turns out to by the horse's back.]

[Blake's voice tears around the edges] Defending them is your job!

[He's throwing everything he has at Minato, and the bastard's not even moving. Panting, arms aching, Blake lets his attack lapse.]

[he snarls into the blond asshole's face] You don't know what you're talking about.

Who the hell are you to tell me what my job is?

[Blake might have started to slow down, but the last swing was caught instead of deflected, Minato's hand closing in firmly over the other man's fist, fingers tightening to punctuate his words and ensure Blake would stay put to listen to them.

His patience was being severely tested, and if pushed much further he had no qualms over breaking Blake's hand or wrist. Or both.]

Two of my students proudly gave their lives to defend each other, and the village. I gave my life to protect them all, leaving me unable to watch my own son grow up. But I'd do it again a hundred times over if it meant keeping them safe.

I won't have those sacrifices belittled because you think you have the right to tell me what I'm supposed to do.

.... [He has this look on his face that says he's trying very hard to be diplomatic.]

Okay. I don't need it to deal with a civilian trained combatant.

Then, once you get past the math and lack of space, it's all arbitrary orders, training drills and spaceport fees. And spaceport bribes, of course.

[He doesn't sound too upset by that last part, funnily enough.]

[ Rarity flips the empty glass off her back and catches it with her magic, then sets it down on the floor. ]

Levitation, dear. Unicorn magic. Are you feeling any better? Is there something else I can get you?

Somebody with a fucking bare minimum sense of decency.

[Blake clenches his teeth to keep from barking out in pain at Minato's grip. He tries to wrench his hand free, but it's stuck tight. There's no sign of effort on the bastard's face. Blake gets a bad, bad feeling that he can crush the bones if he feels like it.]

[He doesn't have anything else to fight with. He looks at Minato and it's not really him he sees.]

[His voice comes out raw, all the force gone.] Little kids, you son of a bitch.

[Blake jabs a finger at him accusingly, and yeah, maybe is feeling a little bit childish right now]

That was on purpose, asshole!

[Blake does his very, very best not to see that.]

Unicorn magic isn't gonna help.

[He's been looking steadfastly at a nice, reliable spot on the wall. Slowly, carefully, he lets his eyes slide over. Purple tail. Two legs. Four legs. Purple mane. Head. Big blue eyes, eyelashes. Horn.]

[Very cautiously, he tries reaching out to touch her head. Just to see if it'll really be there,]
