[Jail is fucking boring.]

[They'd stuck Blake in a cell for a while until they figured out something about community service. It was a lot faster than back in the real world, but even crazy bullshit island has red tape. Blake's not sure whether that's nostalgic or not.]

[Cells are the same everywhere, too. He's never been on this side before. The novelty wears off fast.]

[He wishes he had a ball to bounce against the wall or something. They didn't even leave him any of his animals for company. Maybe that's a good thing. He doesn't know how he's going to explain this to Steve.]

[There's nothing but a book, and there's only so much anybody can take of The Dratini Code.]

[Blake leans back on the hard bunk and tosses his phone in one hand. When he got in here the one thing he was sure of was that he didn't want to talk to anybody, but nothing weakens that conviction like a couple hours alone with the hot, uneasy feeling in the back of his head.]

[He flips the phone open before he can think about it too much and says the first thing that comes to mind.]

[The face that comes up on the screen will look a lot less combative and more withdrawn than usual.]

Seems like everything around here is like back home but turned the local kind of stupid. Do they even make any real original movies?

[In the crappy florescent lights shared by jails everywhere, the lines on his face look deep and weathered.]

[Blake's chagrined that he even admitted to being at a loss.]

[He lets out a long breath.] I'm too old to learn any new tricks.

Nah. There's time for everything. [He phrases time oddly, like there's a vastly greater meaning to that than he's saying outloud.] You just got to take that step towards it.

[Blake's a little amused despite himself. He's heard that speech a lot, but it's never been given to him before.]

Anyway, living forever? Nah. Not happening.

Nah. Once somebody's behind bars I don't give a damn what happens to them, unless they have information. My part's over.

Good thing you haven't planned on it. You might've been real disappointed.

Speaking of that, people don't die here. It seems like they do then time distorts, resetting them which isn't supposed to happen. Time is a fickle thing.

That's what I've heard, minus the time travel crap. I'm not gonna run off a cliff to try it out.

Who knows what happens when you get old enough to keel over.

[Blake throws his hands up] Oh, just the one.

[That gets Blake's attention. He has his doubts that it's anything useful, but any lead is better than none.]

Here's the thing. He wasn't looking into this universe. He was looking into who fell through and how often. Like for example, most people from my world living and dead have been here and back several times.

Most it does. Then you get to my universe and anyone with sanity wants to take their brain out behind the old wood shed and make like its old Yeller.

It makes even less sense than 'if it weren't for my horse, I wouldn't have spent that year in college'.

I guess a few others won't make much sense either, I looked through some of it. I just can't find the results of it. Guess it could always be posted again. Tell us about your world/universe/what ever you want to call the mess you called a life and how many of the shmucks you grew up with or met along the way rolled through poke land. Etc etc.

[Blake groans] Don't you get started about horses, too.
