[The flag behind Blake is scorched and askew from where one of his firehorses brushed too close to it. His eyes are dark-rimmed, and have a hint of a wild sheen. No fancy-ass combed hair this time. His beard is dark and thick.]

I tried playing nice.

[There's a bat-like squeak from somewhere offscreen. Yusuke's going away present. He doesn't seem to hear it.]

More people are vanishing off the face of the earth. The wolfkid disappeared the old-fashioned way. No trace of any of them.

[Suddenly, he slams his fist on his desk.]

That's enough!

[He jabs his finger at the screen.]

As of now, I am declaring martial law. You hear me?! Nobody leaves without my permission!

[A violent gesture knocks over a glass in front of him.]

We're on lockdown!

[The video cuts out.]

[Blake is in his headquarters, prowling back and forth. He can't seem to stay still, and his Pokemon have caught his restlessness. His arcanine is sniffing the air, Steve is pacing and standing on her toes to peer out the windows, his Kingler is scuttling around the old bowling lanes with its legs clack-clacking on the wood floor. There a squeaking and rustle of wings every once in a while as the last damn Zubat out of reach flaps over to a new corner. The only one that seems at rest is a Beautifly perched on top of a bank of lockers.

Blake's tread is hard and heavy. Every once in a while he hisses under his breath,] Bastards.

[[OOC: THE TIME IS NOW. If anybody's looking to ~~have fun punching an idiot in the head~~ make history by overthrowing Blake's ~~delusion~~ government, now's the opportunity.]]

Kid, there is no such thing as magic. There's these little monster things, but there's no spells and there's no wizards. Grow up and deal with it.

This further proves my point. Such astounding ignorance is to be expected of one who would attempt to challenge that which he cannot understand through mundane means.

[When it's part of being nasty, yes.]

That's what I thought.

Life's not a fairy tale. There's no magic swords or psychic powers, and all the monsters are people.

Anybody who tells you otherwise is just trying to scam you.

[There's a look of actual understanding on Gundam's face there. He gets it. He really does. Especially the part about people being monsters. That's not something he likes to think about in this world, but it's true, isn't it?]

Be that as it may, the alternative is to admit your powerlessness to stop people from leaving or to futiley try to chain the world with some sort of meaningless mortal measure. And in a world where psychic creatures and magic swords do exist, why restrict yourself in such a manner? Doing so is essentially admitting your own inability to adapt.

[He's not sure what he's trying to do here. He's not good at trying to cheer up or motivate people. But man at least think outside the box in Pokemon land. Use Mean Look or something instead of wrapping crime scene tape around people or something.]

[What he figured the kid would do is yell a lot more bullshit about magic, just the same thing but louder. The easiest kind of argument.

He doesn't expect him to a weird, undeniable kind of reasonable. It's like when the guy on the street corner breaks off his yelling about lizardmen to ask to bum a cigarette.

It is certainly within the realm of possibility. The Legendary Pokemon, for example, possess powers far beyond the comprehension of mere mortals.

You're saying I should go out to a mountaintop like one of those monk guys, but instead of chanting and sitting funny, I should track down a god-monster and kick its ass.

[He meant more catching it or trying to reason with it but you know what? He thinks he's making progress here, so he'll just kinda try and roll with it.]

If all else fails, that may very well be the case. However, I would suggest attempting to reason with such a being first.
