[5]Video/Action for Violet City
[The feed comes up on Blake outside the Violet City gym. He's holding the Gear in one hand and tossing something small in the other. Behind him his Snubbull is sitting on his Mareep, both looking proud of themselves. For his part, Blake doesn't look so thrilled.]
Hell of a loaded word, "badge."
[He catches it on the toss and holds it up to the camera.]
Look at that. Does it looks like much use to you?
[He sighs and slips it in his pocket.]
Zap the crap out of a kid's birds and get a medal that lets you fly.
You know what the worst part is? It's not until right now I realized there's anything wrong with that. I'm getting used to it.
[He starts walking aimlessly down the street, Pokemon trotting after him.]
It's baseball season, not that you'd know it here. Can't remember the last time I missed Opening Day. But hell, now it's been more than a month. Just went right by. How's it even May if you're not arresting drunk idiots on Cinco de Mayo? It's not right.
[Blake looks troubled.]
It's too easy to get caught up in this animal fighting crap and forget about the real world.
[His expression shifts toward its more familiar flinty pugnacity.]
Almost everybody here's been here longer than me. Give me some proof you haven't forgotten. Tell me something about home. Anything, I don't know, something you miss.

I miss my job.

Perma-Text (Sorry, I don't know what's wrong with me over all the edits.)
And the team.
[A short pause, before he realises he should probably explain what his job actually is.]
I worked under a company. Security and investigation.
[Also illegal activities that were never properly traced back to said company.]
text, and hey that's what it's for
[How long has it been since he's kicked down a door?]
Must be a hell of a company to have a force that sees real action instead of sitting at a desk watching the security cameras.

[Door kicking was always fun, but Rude mainly misses the fighting. The sound of fist upon flesh? Music to his ears.]
A big company with big secrets.

Sounds like an oil company.
Or Apple.

An energy company, oil's a good guess.

[judging by what he said about secrets..]
So is it the Enron embezzling kind of corrupt, or the Blackwater murdering people kind?
no subject
Not really my business there though.
[He was just there for the thrills and the adrenaline kicks, and there was plenty of that going around when you work for Shinra. Even with Rufus turning a new leaf there was no shortage of stuff for him to do back home.]

You work for them. How's that not your business?

[You want crazy? Try Hojo. Now that guy was a real basket case.]

The details are never the important part. The down and dirty, hands-on stuff, that's what I miss doing. Doesn't feel right to make animals fight your battles for you.
I do apologize for the lateness. Work has been intense the last few weeks.
No problem!
[His judgment for what constitutes "need" might be a little different from most people's.]
Guns when it's serious, fists when it's more personal.
[Or the other guy is handcuffed.]

[Only a pussy backs down from a challenge.]
Anytime you want. I could use the exercise.

Good.
You sticking around Violet City? Or heading on?
