[The feed comes up on Blake outside the Violet City gym. He's holding the Gear in one hand and tossing something small in the other. Behind him his Snubbull is sitting on his Mareep, both looking proud of themselves. For his part, Blake doesn't look so thrilled.]

Hell of a loaded word, "badge."

[He catches it on the toss and holds it up to the camera.]

Look at that. Does it looks like much use to you?

[He sighs and slips it in his pocket.]

Zap the crap out of a kid's birds and get a medal that lets you fly.

You know what the worst part is? It's not until right now I realized there's anything wrong with that. I'm getting used to it.

[He starts walking aimlessly down the street, Pokemon trotting after him.]

It's baseball season, not that you'd know it here. Can't remember the last time I missed Opening Day. But hell, now it's been more than a month. Just went right by. How's it even May if you're not arresting drunk idiots on Cinco de Mayo? It's not right.

[Blake looks troubled.]

It's too easy to get caught up in this animal fighting crap and forget about the real world.

[His expression shifts toward its more familiar flinty pugnacity.]

Almost everybody here's been here longer than me. Give me some proof you haven't forgotten. Tell me something about home. Anything, I don't know, something you miss.

To be honest, there's really not a whole lot that I miss. Coming here was actually an improvement for me but...I do miss my dad. Over two years here and no sign of him aside from something that might have been a dream? I don't really remember, it was weird.

Oh, and Earth movies. God what I wouldn't give to be able to see the real Con Air or Ghostbusters again. The weird knock-offs here just really aren't the same.

I can tell you something I don't miss. Getting shoved into a crowd of people that haven't bathed in a week. Oh, and boot night. Wasn't too keen on either of those things.

But if I had to pick something I missed it'd be my teammates. I've never been apart from them this long, and these days I could badly use a little reassurance from Rin with everything going on.

[He misses Kio and Romary, his parents and his sister, but with that he's had plenty of practice. Too much of it.]

As for things I miss from home...I haven't been here for very long, but I find myself troubled by the lack of schools, to say nothing of proper classes! So I do miss that...as well as the disciplinary committee at my former high school, before Hope's Peak.

[Just for a second, Blake's expression falls when he hears the kid mention missing his dad. He covers it fast.] It doesn't look like there's any kind of rhyme or reason to who shows up here. He could show up tomorrow, or never.

[he sighs] Yeah, real movies. Never thought I'd miss bad Die Hard sequels this much.

It's because I'm from a port city, and seagulls are the official bird of Busan. [ yes, they have an official bird. no wonder there are stupid stereotypes. ] It's in the city emblem.

There's a cheering song so no one has to resort to that kind of cheer. [ ...yeah, let's stop there. ]

If there were actually sports games broadcasted at all I'd watch. There are a lot of things here that I've never seen but it's also lacking a lot.

Sometimes my dad would take me and my brother to the buildings he designed and show us around when it was dark and there was no one in there but us.

I miss the way things used to be back then. But I still like it better here, because I know that even if I went home, things can't go back to the way they were.
