Hey.

[There's not much preamble to this broadcast. Not a lot of middleamble, either. Blake looks tired, but sober.]

You've probably figured this out already, but might as well make it official. That whole President thing, it's over. Olly olly oxen free.

[Sky is visible in the background. The screen shifts with his steps.]

I'm gonna go think for a while.

[The feed cuts out.]

[He stops under a tree by the side of the road to answer the text. His Snubbull goes bounding off into the bushes after a purple rat.]

Hey, Red. Long time no see.

I'm okay. Just letting a bad idea go.

Sometimes for the best.

So where to now?

I'll figure that out on the way. I'm just going to start walking and see if I run into anybody who wants to do an animal fight. It's been too long since Steve got to bite something.

What've you been up to?

Tell Steve I said hello.

I've been stuck in one place, for the most part. It's been nice spending time at a beach town, but it's no place to stay when things get cold. I'm trying to figure out where to go next. Who knows? Maybe we'll run into each other on the road.

[There's a pause for a moment as Blake shows the screen to Steve. An eager paw meets the keypad.]

[Another quick pause as Blake takes the phone back.]

Steve says hi too.

Yeah, get out of there. There's nothing as depressing as a beach town in the off season. It's all boarded up windows and guys in flip flops with scraggly beards. Besides, staying in one place too long around here starts driving you crazy. Maybe that was my problem.

It'd be good to see a friendly face. If we run into each other, I'll buy you lunch.

We'll both get fresh air and a change of pace, then.

That'd be great. What places haven't you been to yet, or have you seen it all?

I'm an old hand here. I've been by most places at least once. Usually I see it from batback. There's some good places a few days' travel from Goldenrod I haven't been in a while.

I could use the exercise. Starting to get a gut here.

Ouch. Better work it off in time for next summer. Attract some beach cuties, right?

Most of what you find at the beach are starfish monsters. I don't care what those think about my abs.

I guess those aren't better than nothing, huh?

I feel like I've heard about an actual work out gym and not a battle-for-a-badge gym somewhere in Johto... Think about checking that out?

Hell, they don't even have faces. Who knows if they can even see.

That's not a bad idea. I could use a workout besides walking a hundred miles full of homicidal ladybugs. Some old fashioned lifting iron.

Let's not reflect on the strangeness of Pokemon biology.

You'll have to let me know how it goes. I wouldn't mind giving it a try myself.
